In this episode, I am diving into the second part of a three-part series. In EP. 93, I discussed the three phases to achieve your forever weight.

- Phase 2: LOSE. Where you take what you've learned and work the process until you reach your goal in the Stop. Dieting. Forever.™ program,

Many new people to the Stop. Dieting. Forever.™ Process share this common thought, “I hate daily weight fluctuations!” In episode 93, I explained how to combat this thought by learning the most effective way to track your weight loss progress.
Now it's time for the second phase - LOSE. In this phase, I address the common thought, "I know daily weight fluctuations are part of the process, but..." You’ll begin to unpack all the beliefs that are holding you back from truly looking at the number on the scale as neutral data. “I hate daily weight fluctuations.” I hear this statement all of the time. I know it turns a lot of you off from getting on a scale in the first place because you can't deal with the daily weight fluctuations. The thing is, daily weight fluctuation is normal. In fact, the average adult's weight fluctuates up to 5 or 6 pounds per day. Your weight is a reflection of what you eat and drink when you exercise and sleep and what you think.
Our brains want to make daily weight fluctuations a problem, but they don’t have to be and I'm going to tell you why. I will be approaching this topic over the next three podcast episodes. This is part one of a three-part series. I'm breaking it up into three parts because each episode is aligned with the three phases of weight loss within the Stop. Dieting. Forever.™ process.

We live in the age of convenience and we want everything quick, fast, and in a hurry. This includes weight loss. The concern with fast weight loss is that it usually takes extraordinary efforts in diet and exercise, efforts that could be unhealthy and that we probably can't maintain as permanent lifestyle changes.
I get it. When we decide it's time to LOSE WEIGHT we want to move far, far, far away from our current weight as fast as possible. So we go about trying to lose weight the WRONG way. “Focusing on my health feels like a chore”. I hear this often. As I coach clients on why they find it easy to do the daily work during the week, but on the weekends they fall off it's because in their mind, what they're doing is work and they deserve a break after working all week.
The normal way we approach weight loss is as if it's a chore. And I get it. We’re busy. We have a lot going on. Life is crazy right now. Here's the problem, life is always crazy right now. When we let ourselves go down the path of, “I have so much going on,” our brain will come up with a “solution” like “I’ll wait a few more weeks or months, and then I'll be in a better place.”

During the cold, harsh months of winter, eating clean and exercising can seem a whole lot more challenging compared to the spring and summer seasons when the abundance of sunshine and warmth naturally motivates you to head outdoors and get active!

One of the main reasons people are drawn to different diet programs is because they tell you exactly what to do. Our human brains like instructions. This was totally my story. My weight was the albatross around my neck. It was the pain in my a**. And because I didn’t know how to solve the problem on my own, I joined lots of weight loss programs. I followed the instructions to the “t” but still, my weight would go up, then it went down, then it went back up, and eventually, it would get stuck.
