Our default is that we all want to feel the positive effect of change when we lose weight and we're sporting this new body, but we don't want to do the work that it takes to actually change.
How I see this showing up during the weight loss journey is often we are unwilling to forget what we THINK we know about weight loss and be 100% open to learning a new way. We run from the unknown and we stick to what we know...even if it isn't working.
Here's the thing, if we're not ready to let go of our old diet rules, we're going to slow down our weight loss progress because we're going to be confused. Sometimes we have to be willing to let it ALL go. When we let go of what we THINK we know and start again, we are ready to let go of the weight.

Losing weight and keeping it off can be a challenge. So imagine setting a weight-loss goal, achieving it, and then going on vacation. How do you maintain that weight loss and withstand the temptations of wanting to eat and drink all the things?
That's the scenario my client, Monica, encountered. As a private client of the Stop. Dieting. Forever.™ process, Monica learned how to lose weight on her terms and successfully lost 15 pounds. She reached out to me before her vacation and asked for some words of encouragement.
To make sure she had what she needed, I did a pop-up training in my community to teach my clients how to continue with their weight loss progress through the holiday. I'm glad to report that Monica attended the training, paid attention, came up with a plan, and returned from her weekend trip having maintained her 15-pound weight loss.

The Clean Plate Club started out as a useful tool to reduce food waste but in the modern-day, it’s contributed to overeating resulting in more people being overweight and has become more of a curse than anything else.

Some of us are really good at making decisions. We make decisions constantly - all day every day at work or for our families but when we need to make a decision about ourselves, especially decisions that put ourselves as a priority, it's easy to skip this decision. There is a reason for this.
Women are socialized from the time we were born to be primary caregivers. No, we aren't naturally better at it than men, but we're forced to figure it out, or else the "societal shame" fall upon us. The issue with this is that behind closed doors this causes a lot of unnecessary stress, angst, frustration, and pain. No wonder emotional eaters tend to be women and not men.
The good news is that this no longer has to be your reality. Overcoming the perceived shame and guilt that comes with societal norms isn't easy but it's possible. You can prioritize yourself when presented with an opportunity to uplevel your confidence and improve your body and health without feeling guilty.
